Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO), the operator of the NNPC joint venture on OML 29, has terminated its contracts with several surveillance security providers following accusations of “damaging nefarious activities.”
In a statement released July 1, 2024, AEEPCO’s Group Managing Director, Victor Okoronkwo, announced the termination of contracts with Amotoi Global Services Ltd (operated by Clement Amunaboye), Obiene M Obiene (“Organiser”), Thomas Livingstone, and Christopher Ezekiel Enu.
AEEPCO alleges that these contractors engaged in a variety of harmful activities that compromised Aiteo’s operations, including:
- Safety Violations
- High Fraud
- Criminal Activity
- Gross Negligence
- Exposure of Assets
The company claims these actions resulted in “substantial financial losses” and “severe disruption” to their operations. AEEPCO further expressed disappointment that entities entrusted with securing their facilities were allegedly involved in such activities.
The statement emphasizes the seriousness of the situation, highlighting the “depth of the decay” within the industry and the need for “urgent and comprehensive corrective measures.”
AEEPCO notified relevant authorities, including regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and potentially involved third parties, about the contract terminations. The company also advised against any further dealings with the aforementioned contractors.
