Google and Volkswagen have joined forces to create an AI-powered smartphone application designed specifically for Volkswagen drivers. The app, part of Google’s broader push into the enterprise AI market, simplifies daily tasks by providing practical assistance for vehicle owners.
The in-app assistant allows drivers to ask questions such as how to change a flat tyre, utilizing smartphone cameras to display relevant data from the car’s dashboard. This innovation is powered by Google’s Gemini large language models and cloud infrastructure.
Currently available for free to approximately 120,000 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport owners, the service will expand to more models by next year. This collaboration aims to enhance Google’s presence in the competitive cloud computing market, while providing valuable AI-driven tools to everyday users.
