In a strategic move to enhance financial services accessibility, Smartcash Payment Service Bank (PSB), a subsidiary of Airtel Nigeria, has entered into a partnership with Stanbic IBTC Bank, focusing on facilitating cash deposits and withdrawals for their customers throughout Nigeria.
Judith Osiobe, the Head of Partnership at Smartcash Payment Service Bank, disclosed this collaboration in a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos. Osiobe highlighted that the collaboration is geared towards leveraging Stanbic IBTC Bank’s extensive branch network to provide additional financial services to Airtel Smartcash customers across the nation.
“This partnership is another opportunity for us to drive financial inclusion. Since its inception, Smartcash has played a significant role in promoting financial inclusion and education through various collaborations. We are thrilled to join forces with Stanbic IBTC Bank to broaden access to financial services for a greater number of Nigerians. This partnership aligns with our dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our customers,” stated Osiobe.
Omolara Osunsoko, Head of Partnerships at Stanbic IBTC Bank, underscored the crucial role of financial institutions in the economy. Osunsoko emphasized that the partnership reaffirms Stanbic IBTC Bank’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience for Airtel Smartcash users by facilitating easy and accessible cash-in and cash-out services across their branches.
“This initiative enables Airtel Smartcash wallet customers to conveniently deposit and withdraw cash at any Stanbic IBTC Bank branch. Smartcash and Stanbic IBTC Bank are confident that the synergies created through this partnership will significantly contribute to the advancement of financial inclusion in Nigeria,” Osiobe quoted Osunsoko as saying.
