The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced a partnership with the organizers of the Naija Brand Chick (NBC) Trade Fair to co-host the 2024 edition of the event.
Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, announced the collaboration at a press conference held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.
The fair, scheduled for June 14-16, is expected to provide a platform for vendors and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, connect with a wider audience, and contribute to Lagos’ booming economy.
“This partnership is not just about cooperation; it’s about amplifying the Lagos Tourism NBC Trade Fair and turning it into a pivotal catalyst for our entrepreneurial community,” Aregbe said.
The fair will feature a variety of sectors including lifestyle, homeware, fashion, beauty, services, innovation, arts and crafts, adventure, recreation, travel, hospitality, and cultural attractions.
“This partnership is a testament to the government’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity and diversity,” Aregbe added. “We are committed to nurturing our cultural heritage, promoting artistic endeavors, and propelling the tourism sector forward as a cornerstone of economic development.”
The founder of the NBC trade fair, Nelly Agboju, expressed her excitement about the partnership. “We started the trade fair in Lagos in 2018, and it’s commendable that the government recognizes our brand,” she said. “This is a great opportunity for business owners and entrepreneurs to gain visibility, network, and make money.”
Actress Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi also praised the initiative, highlighting the government and organizers’ support for small and medium-sized businesses. She encouraged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the upcoming trade fair.
