The Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Didi Walson-Jack, and her UK counterpart, Simon Case, have agreed to collaborate and strengthen ties in a move to enhance civil service reforms. The agreement was made during a meeting between Walson-Jack and Case at the UK Cabinet Office in London.
According to Eno Olotu, Director of Communications at the HOCSF, the meeting focused on key areas such as capacity building, knowledge management, and the enhancement of Nigeria’s Civil Service Week, drawing inspiration from the UK’s “Civil Service Live” conference. The discussions were aimed at sharing best practices to support Nigeria’s ongoing reforms under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025.
Both sides also agreed to explore exchange programs and study tours to facilitate mutual learning and knowledge sharing. The UK expressed its commitment to sharing its civil service development insights while recognizing the importance of learning from Nigeria’s experiences.
This collaborative effort is expected to strengthen the partnership between the two countries, enhancing the capabilities of both civil services and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship. The meeting underscores the dedication of Nigeria and the UK to building efficient and responsive civil services with ongoing partnership and support in the years ahead.
