On Thursday, Mongolia’s Immigration Agency unveiled a new initiative to issue all visa types electronically. This move is part of the government’s strategy to streamline visa applications and improve the overall service experience for visitors, whether for official or personal reasons.
The agency revealed that all 54 visa categories, available upon inviter requests, can now be processed electronically. This development aligns with Mongolia’s goal to advance its tourism sector and diversify its economy, which has traditionally depended on mineral resource exports.
Inviter requests for visas can now be submitted directly through the agency’s official website. The shift to e-visas is expected to simplify the process and make it more accessible for international visitors.
Since 2021, Mongolia has been issuing certain visas electronically, granting over 110,000 e-visas to date. The expansion to include all visa categories marks a significant step in the country’s effort to enhance its global tourism competitiveness and economic resilience.
