The Lagos State Government has reiterated its dedication to fostering a supportive environment for agriculture and food security within the state. Speaking at the Lagos Agrinnovation Hang Out 4.0, themed “Technology and Funding Support,” Abiola Olusanya, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts.
Olusanya expressed satisfaction with the growth of the Agrinnovation Club, launched in 2023, which has facilitated networking and collaboration among members. She described the club as a platform for like-minded individuals to work together and solve food security challenges in Lagos, urging members to view one another as collaborators rather than competitors.
She also announced plans to launch the Young Farmer’s Club in October as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, aimed at inspiring the next generation of farmers.
Oluwarotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, stressed Nigeria’s potential in agriculture, urging citizens to explore opportunities in the sector. Gbolabo Olaniwun, Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture and Food Systems, encouraged entrepreneurs to focus on vision and collaboration rather than being discouraged by financial limitations.
