At the NVIDIA AI Summit, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, announced that India is set to emerge as one of the largest intelligence markets globally. He highlighted that this potential is not just driven by aspirations but also by India’s rich talent pool and youthful demographics.
Ambani expressed optimism that the country’s influence will extend beyond domestic borders, stating, “Indians will not only export CEOs to major global companies, but also deliver AI services on a massive scale to create a better world.”
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang echoed Ambani’s sentiments, suggesting that India is transitioning from a software-exporting nation to one focused on AI exports. Huang expressed eagerness to collaborate with Indian enterprises to position the nation at the heart of the forthcoming industrial revolution.
During the summit in Mumbai, Huang announced a partnership between Reliance and NVIDIA to develop AI infrastructure in India. He emphasised that achieving leadership in artificial intelligence requires advanced AI model technology, ample data, and strong infrastructure—all of which this partnership aims to provide.
Huang pointed out that one of India’s key advantages is its large user base, stating, “With AI, data, infrastructure, and a substantial user base, India has the essential components to create an AI ecosystem.”
Ambani lauded Huang’s initiative in spearheading the knowledge revolution, referring to it as an intelligence revolution that could lead to global prosperity. He quoted Prime Minister Modi, recognising the efforts to transition India into a premier digital society and noting that the average age of India’s 1.4 billion population is under 35. Ambani underscored that this youthful demographic, along with advances in AI and rising aspirations, will be pivotal in driving the country’s economic growth.
