The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has postponed the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration to Monday, Feb. 3, instead of the initially scheduled Friday, Jan. 31.
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, announced the rescheduling in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday. He attributed the decision to the need for critical adjustments to the registration process.
Reasons for the Change
According to Benjamin, the adjustment became necessary due to:
- The suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as communicated by the Council for Legal Education.
- Irregularities in some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, where deceptive means were used to gain approval.
He stated that JAMB had taken steps to disapprove such centres, ensuring that only accredited and reliable facilities are used for the registration and examination process.
Apology and Assurance
JAMB acknowledged the inconvenience the change might cause candidates and stakeholders. However, Benjamin assured that the additional time would allow the Board to make all necessary adjustments for a smooth and efficient registration process.
