The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results, with 57,114 candidates attaining at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dantani Wushishi, disclosed this in Minna on Friday, stating that the examination recorded a 67.35% pass rate. The exams, conducted between November 14 and December 14, 2024, had 86,067 registered candidates.
A total of 29 subjects were examined, with 83,220 candidates sitting for English and 83,024 for Mathematics. The results indicate that 75.62% of candidates obtained credits and above in English, while 93.93% did so in Mathematics. Additionally, 83.39% secured at least five credits, regardless of English and Mathematics.
Wushishi also reported a 27.7% decline in malpractice cases, with 6,160 candidates booked. Seven supervisors across Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Cross River, and Ebonyi were recommended for blacklisting due to misconduct. Furthermore, 14 centres—10 in Ogun and four in Oyo—were blacklisted for exam malpractice across nine subjects.
Candidates can check their results at www.neco.gov.ng using their registration number. Wushishi expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, the Minister of Education, and other stakeholders for their support.
