Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering innovation, responsible gaming, and digital entrepreneurship to position Lagos as Africa’s leading hub for AI-driven gaming and fintech.
Speaking at the 2nd Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) 2025 in Victoria Island, Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the government is implementing progressive policies, strategic investments, and digital infrastructure to support game developers, fintech startups, and AI pioneers.
He highlighted the transformative role of AI in enhancing efficiency, security, and financial inclusion across gaming, fintech, and entertainment, noting that these industries are key to job creation and economic growth.
Charles Ekundayo, CEO of Africa Gaming Expo Limited, stated that the expo aims to drive innovation and collaboration in Africa’s gaming and fintech landscape.
A major highlight of the event was the Gaming Influencer Award presented to Emmanuel Adebayor, former Arsenal striker and Togolese football star, for his impact on global and African football.
