The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as of now. The board has reiterated that registration will officially close on March 8, 2025, with no plans for an extension. Additionally, the sale of e-PINs, required for registration, will end on March 5, 2025.
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed on Tuesday in Abuja that the deadline has been clearly communicated through advertisements and the official 2025 UTME calendar. He urged prospective candidates to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute issues, as the Board’s calendar is set, and any extensions could disrupt subsequent examination and admission processes.
Breakdown of UTME Registration
- Week 1: 201,867 candidates registered
- Week 2: 560,025 candidates registered
- Week 3: 528,823 candidates registered
- Total so far: 1,290,715 candidates
With the registration window still open, more candidates are expected to register before the March 8 deadline.
JAMB has emphasized that all candidates should ensure they complete the registration process following the official guidelines, including downloading and filling out the registration template. The board also recommends that candidates start preparing for the exams with JAMB CBT practice tools.
Key Deadlines
- Sales of e-PINs end: March 5, 2025
- Registration closes: March 8, 2025
JAMB warns that candidates who fail to complete their registration before the deadline will not be accommodated, as the examination process is already scheduled with subsequent phases, including result management and the admissions exercise.
