The president of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) expressed strong optimism on Wednesday, stating that the Super Eagles are well-equipped to secure a victory against Cote d’Ivoire in their second match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Scheduled to take place on Thursday at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara, Abidjan, the Super Eagles are gearing up for a crucial encounter against the formidable Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Igali, the NWF president, stressed the significance of the upcoming match for the Super Eagles, urging them to harness all their strength and tactics to ensure success. Despite the strong reputation of the Ivorian team, boasting footballers playing in top professional leagues worldwide, Igali expressed confidence in the Nigerian squad’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“I’m very confident it is a match we must win,” he stated.
Nigeria commenced their AFCON journey with a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in the opening Group A fixture at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic stadium in Abidjan, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Nigeria shares Group A with Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, and the host, Cote d’Ivoire.
